Reopening Plan
 
With restrictions and limitations, under the guidance of Bishop Michael Barber and Alameda County Health, St. Bede Catholic Church plans to reopen for public
Worship on July 11, 2020 Saturday and July 12, 2020 Sunday.
Protocol
When Parishioners arrive at Church:

• Parishioner should check their own temperature at home prior to coming

to the church. If above 100.4, must stay home.

• Everyone above 3 years of age must wear a mask. No mask! No Entrance!
• Parishioner are asked to check the website or entrance of the doors for

           entrance protocol.

• Parishioners will enter through the center entrance of the church only.
• Parishioners will provide their own face masks and sanitizer.
• The First hundred parishioners will be escorted to their seating and a limited number of overflows will be admitted to the small gym. Enter by the side vestibule.
• Doors will open 20 minutes before Mass.
•  Offertory baskets will be located upon entrance and exits.
• Parishioners are asked to bring their own worship aids.

 
During Mass:

• No physical contact during the Our Father or Sign of Peace.
• No collection during Mass.
• The music will be provided by a choir director, pianist and cantor.
• Parishioners will be invited to prayerfully listen to the music provided

rather than singing along.

• There will be no hymnal, missals, or bulletins provided.

 
Communion:

• Distribution of Holy Communion will take place AFTER Mass for those who are in attendance. Because of the special distancing between the rows the Priest or the Eucharist Minister will come to communicant to distribute Holy Communion.
• The Precious Blood will not be offered.
• The communicant will receive in the hand only.
• Communicant will remove their mask to consume Our Lord.
• Each Minister of Communion will have the necessary items for sanitation in

      accordance to Diocesan Protocol.

• For those who are watching Mass via livestream. Priest will be distributing Holy Communion in the main vestibule.

 
Departure:

• Exit immediately after Communion through the side doors by the Sanctuary (Altar).
• Parishioner seated in the small gym will exit through the back doors by the stage.
• Parishioners are asked not to congregate after Mass. Please return directly to your vehicles.

 
Cleaning:

• Church will be closed and sanitized after all Masses.

 
Clergy Instructions:

• After Mass, the Priest will sanitize his hands prior to distributing Holy Communion to the Faithful.
• The Priest will wear a Mask and Shield for the distribution of communion.
• If the Priest or Eucharist Minister’s hands touch the communicant, they will disinfect before continuing.
