Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation

Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion. The celebration consists of a proclamation of God's mercy, followed by prayers of sorrow and contrition, confession of sin (the absence of God), the declarations of absolution (forgiveness), an act of penance (conversion or change) and thanksgiving.  A priest is the minister of this sacrament.  Priests are available at scheduled times of Confession and communal celebrarions of the Sacrament of Penance and by appointment.
